I grew up in rural Southern California, the youngest of three children. I have been a writer since I held my first crayon, although it took me nearly 20 years to figure that out! Even in those pre-alphabet days I was always writing on something – paper, walls, floors, clothing, windows and furniture.

My earliest musical inspirations came from my family, who subjected…I mean introduced me, to some of the greatest music ever written. Whether it was my father who exposed me to the smooth stylings of Frank Sinatra and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, or my mother who indulged me with several nationally touring musicals written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, to my brother and sister who introduced me to the sounds that helped shape generations and influence the musicians of today. Ranging from Steely Dan to ELO and Led Zeppelin to Jackson Browne, my older siblings helped form the soundtrack for my youth. It was these experiences by my family, combined with Southern California’s legendary radio personality’s who made it their mission to not only entertain but to educate as well – plus the sheer magnitude of the man called Elvis, that provided the framework that helped shape my musical tastes.

My wife, our two beautiful children, and I live in West Los Angeles; only minutes away from the heartbeat of the music scene that is the Sunset Strip. When not engaged in the entertainment arts, I am usually occupied in some sort of physical activity. I am also a practicing martial artist, earning my shodan black belt a few weeks after the birth of my son. There’s nothing like working up a little sweat to refresh ones creativity!

So, if you’re following the bouncing ball, that would make me a self-professed music-fanatic/radio-aholic by nature and a martial artist by training. If my fingers aren’t flying over the computer keyboard, they are probably in the dojo hitting something.

I appreciate you taking the time to learn about me. ^m^
